A little bit about Grounded Thread
Grounded Thread actually began when I was 14, making clothes and selling them on eBay. I taught myself, with my grandmother there to help whenever I got stuck. I would create pieces from scratch, but also loved finding things at the thrift store and alterng them into something new. What started as a creative outlet all those years ago never really left me.
Life eventually took me in a different direction and into a corporate career, but I always found myself coming back to the things I loved. Creating, collecting, decorating, and searching for pieces that felt a little different from everything else.
In 2024, I decided to leave my corporate career. Somewhere along the way, the hobby I loved became my full-time business, and Grounded Thread found its way back to its roots.
Today, I spend much of my time searching for old pieces with beautiful patina, interesting history, and the kind of character that only comes with age. I source both here and abroad, but France has become an especially important part of Grounded Thread. Traveling there, wandering brocantes and markets, meeting dealers, and finding pieces tucked away that I know someone else will love is one of my favorite parts of what I do.
I don't believe a home needs to be filled with perfect things. I'm drawn to pieces that have been used and loved. Worn wood, aged ironstone, old linens, timeworn surfaces and objects that carry traces of the lives they lived before ours.
Grounded Thread is my way of finding those pieces and giving them another chapter.
Objects with a past, collected for the present.
