Antique French Bressan basket with a beautifully aged deep brown patina. Traditionally associated with the Bresse region of France, these distinctive baskets are recognized for their intricate woven construction and decorative braided details.

This example features substantial handwoven wicker, wide braided bands crossing over the top, and original leather tabs and fastening details. The sculptural braided work gives the basket a particularly beautiful presence and makes it just as striking displayed on its own as it is used for storage.
